What are the standard actual dimensions of a modular brick used in Canadian masonry construction?
- 200 mm x 100 mm x 65 mm overall brick dimensions
- 194 mm x 92 mm x 57 mm overall brick dimensions
- 190 mm x 90 mm x 57 mm overall brick dimensions
- 230 mm x 110 mm x 76 mm overall brick dimensions
The standard modular brick has actual dimensions of 190 mm long, 90 mm wide, and 57 mm high, designed so that one brick plus one 10 mm mortar joint produces a 200 mm modular unit on plan. The 200 by 100 by 65 mm answer is the nominal dimension and ignores the mortar joint. The 194 by 92 by 57 mm answer is an obsolete imperial-to-metric conversion no longer in service. The 230 by 110 by 76 mm answer corresponds to a different non-Canadian modular size and is wrong for Canadian construction.

A 10 percent slope is steeper than ramps allowed by accessibility guidance and is not appropriate for a finished patio surface.
